Together with our sister company, Sustainable Aquatics, the world's largest hatchery for marine ornamentals and Dr. Terry Snell of Georgia Tech, one of the worlds leading rotifer experts, Sustainable Nutrition has developed Amplifeed(tm) Replete, a rotifer grow out feed supplement together with a complete protocol for growing rotifers that are robust, nutritious and available on demand.  These significant breakthroughs in rotifer culture and nutrition have attracted the interest of the zebrafish community. 

Amplifeed(tm) Replete is a new dry rotifer feed that produces faster rotifer population growth and higher populations densities. Sustainable Nutrition has observed faster weaning to dry feeds, better survival rates, faster growth and generation times, and greater FI fertility in tropical ornamental fish studies at Sustainable Aquatics.

Amplifeed(tm) Replete enriched rotifers may allow zebrafish hatcheries to eliminate Artemia for zebrafish larvicultures. 

Doing so requires following best practices: 

• maintaining closed, nearly sterile growth environments, using sterile bags and RO water
• resting rotifer eggs, free of contamination from other rotifer species and ciliates
• a starter culture of unialgal tetraselmis algae
